GreenPois0n will Bring Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 !

While the iPhone Dev Team is working hard to bring untethered Redsn0w 0.9.7 jailbreak, Chronic Dev Team member Joshua Hill behind GreenPois0n jailbreak tool has just posted on his Twitter account that he'll bring untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 by the next GreenPois0n version.

GreenPois0n to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 Within Few Days

The iPhone hacker p0sixninja, behind GreenPois0n jailbreak tool has just posted on his Twitter account that he will update GreenPois0n tool to support the newly released iOS 4.2.1 on all iOS devices.

GreenPois0n should be updated to support 4.2.1 (tethered or semitethered) within a few days.

However, we'll keep you updated whenever the tool is available for download and we'll post full how-to guides to use the tool, stay tuned.

GreenPois0n Source Code is Now Available for Download

Couple of days back, Chornic Dev Team promised that the source code of GreenPois0n jailbreak tool will be available for download. They have done what they have promised. The source code of GreenPois0n iOS 4.1 jailbreak tool is now available for download so you can use it to modify the tool and make it much better to help the jailbreak community.

GreenPois0n jailbreak tool was released last month based on Limera1n's exploit and you can use it to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 4G, 3G, 2G on iOS 4.1. Moreover, iPhone Dev Team promised with the source code of Redsn0w, so stay tuned and we'll inform you whenever it's available.

GreenPois0n and Redsn0w Jailbreak Source Code is Going to be Open Source

Here's some great news for jailbreak lovers! GreenPois0n and Redsn0w jailbreak tools will be open sources for all people for free. This means that you will be able to use the source and customize it on your own or may be improve it to make it better than before while adding some interface and designs to the tool. This was confirmed by both iPhone and Chronic Dev Teams.

Also p0sixninja of Chornic Dev Team confirmed that GreenPois0n will go open sourced:

Apple TV 2G Jailbroken AGAIN Using GreenPois0n

We have already seen Apple TV SHAttered but now it's been poisoned using GreenPois0n. Members of Chronic Dev Team posted an image as a proof, showing a custom loader with a background on the Apple TV, running iOS 4.1.

Of course this will open chances for Cydia developers to start developing apps. So, we may see jailbroken Apple TV running apps in few weeks or months. There still no ETA for the new version of GreenPois0n to jailbreak Apple TV 2G. Stay tuned as we will let you know when the tool is released. [via Twitter]

Here we go, this is happy news for iPod touch 2G users. For all iPod touch 2G users who are waiting for untethered jailbreak for their devices. GreenPois0n RC4 hit the shelves to bring full-untethered jailbreak for iPod touch 2G both MC and MB.

Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G on iOS 4.1 with Greenpois0n on Mac OS X [How to Guide]

Chronic Dev has just released the Mac OS X version of Greenpois0n to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G/3G and iOS 3.2.2 on iPad. Now I have just prepared the step by step Mac guide to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4/3G and iPod touch 4G/3G with Greenpois0n.

STEP 1: Download Greenpois0n jailbreak (link at the end)

STEP 2: Connect your iPhone/iPod to your computer via USB then launch Greenpois0n jailbreak application and hit "Jailbreak" button.

STEP 3: Follow the steps shown on the next screen shots to put your device in DFU mode.

• Now you have to press and hold the sleep button for 3 seconds.

• Continue holding sleep, then press and hold home for 10 seconds.

• Now release sleep button but keep holding home for 15 seconds.

STEP 4: Once your iPhone/iPod is in DFU mode, the jailbreak will begin.

STEP 5: Now press "Complete" button.

STEP 6: Restart your iPhone, now you will notice Loader application icon on your springboard, hit this icon.

STEP 7: Now press "Cydia", then "Install Cydia". After finishing you will be asked to remove Loader from your device, click "Remove", then press Home button, the device will restart automatically.

 

 

 

STEP 8: After your device restart you will find the Cydia icon, Congratulations.

Note: Since there is no way to unlock 05.14.02 / 2.10.04 basebands, you should upgrade to iOS 4.1 with preserving your baseband before using Greenpois0n jailbreak by following our guide (for iPhone 4 ONLY) posted here.
