Firefox 4 Beta 7 is Much Better & Faster

Firefox 4 beta 7 is out, and as you read, it really looks much better, fast and nearly complete. Mozilla enabled graphics acceleration on both Windows and Mac OS X and integrated Sync and the previous feature Panorama.

Mozilla says that they worked hard to bring impressive engine for web pages, interpreting webapps and games. The chart below contains three benchmark tests, including their own, shows what looks like some serious improvements.
Mozilla also planes for some hardware-based graphics acceleration. Guys over there made a quick demonstration video for how JavaScript performance can speed along with the apps:

FireFox 4 Delayed Untill Early 2011

The final version of Mozilla FireFox 4 been officially delayed by the Director Mike Beltzner. He officially confirmed this by writing some words on Mozila Dev Planning mailing lists. Firefox 4 beta 1 was released early in July this year followed by the release of beta 2 and beta 3 then beta 4 late in August. Here's what Beltzner said.
Completing this work (on Firefox 4) is taking longer than initial estimates indicated as we track down regressions and sources of instability
Firefox 4 Beta features some great improvements as changed the all-design of this browser with user-friendly interface. This browser also supports HTML 5, it also have Hardware Accelerated HD video and most likely improved support for Add-ons. It might also be possible that this version will be more faster than older ones. We have to wait until any further notice by Mozilla for the release date of this new version.

Firefox Extension Can Hack Your Facebook and Twitter On Any Unsecured WiFi Network

At a Cafe? Connected to an unsecured Wi-Fi network? Now, anyone can gain access to all of your social network login information whenever you connected to an unsecured Wi-Fi network. Guess what? Your Twitter or Facebook account can be hacked using a Firefox extension!

ReadWriteWeb points to his new Firefox extension which is called Firesheep and developed by Eric Butler. Here's Bulter explains how it works on his blog:
On an open wireless network, cookies are basically shouted through the air, making these attacks extremely easy
Firesheep opens a sidebar in Firefox that shows everyone who is connected to a certain unsecured WiFi network. With a single click, you can connect to most any social network using that person's user name and password.
For anyone who complains about this, TechCrunch pointed to Force-TLS as a way to protect your information from FireSheep but Bulter answers the following:
Websites have a responsibility to protect the people who depend on their services

They've been ignoring this responsibility for too long, and it's time for everyone to demand a more secure web. My hope is that Firesheep will help the users win.
